REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
The league owns the equipment and leases the helmet, shoulder pads, pants and protective girdle to the participants. Football shoes and mouth guard MUST be provided by the participant.
A jersey will be provided that each player will keep. All leased equipment must be cleaned and returned at the conclusion of the season.
LOCATION
Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. at Williamson Fields next to Purpur Arena. All teams and players will practice together at Williamson Field on August 16 and August 18. Grand Forks teams will continue to practice at Williamson, while EGF teams and area teams may practice on their local community fields.
PARENTS
All coordinators and coaches for the football league are volunteers. The league and players need coaches. Please volunteer. We hope to have at least 4 coaches per team.
TEAMS
Fourth grade players will play on teams made up of players in grade 4 only. Fifth grade players will play on teams made up of players in 5th, while sixth grade players will play with players in grade 6. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS when teams were comprised of players from both grades 5 and 6. RURAL TEAMS MADE UP OF BOTH GRADES 5 AND 6 WILL PLAY IN THE SIXTH GRADE DIVISION..
FEES
Cost is $90.00--this includes league fees, equipment lease, and game jersey.
SIGN-UP
REGISTER ONLINE--This year, parents or guardians are strongly encouraged to register their children online for the football league. Go to the Grand Forks Park District website: www.gfparks.org. Click on the “youth football” link and register. THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION IS JULY 24TH. Teams will be determined by August 1st. Coaches and players will be contacted and equipment will be issued in early August.
Final sign-up and equipment issuing will take place at Purpur Arena on the following dates
